Carson Kainer and Todd Frazier each went 3 for 5 with a 2B. Juan Francisco went 2 for 4 with a 3B. Redleg Nation Spotlight Logan Parker and Efrain Contreras both homered.

Brandon Waring was 2 for 3 with his 18th HR and a 2B. Denis Phipps was 2 for 4. Michael McKennon tripled.

Jeremy Horst gets the win going 5.1 IP giving up 1 R on 6 H and a BB with 2 K. Aguido Gonzalez gets the save with 2.1 scoreless innings.

Billings 5 – Helena 0

Jose Gualdron was 2 for 2 with a 3B and a BB. Matt Stiffler was 2 for 4 with a 2B. Kyle Day and Cody Puckett each doubled.

Oscar Castro wins it going 6 IP allowing no runs on 6 H and 2 BB with 8 K. Jordan Hotchkiss (2 IP) and Josh Beal (1 IP) each pitched scoreless relief.

GCL Reds 7 – GCL Pirates 3

Mariekson Gregorious was 3 for 3 with a BB. Donald Lutz was 2 for 4 with 2 2B. Mauricio Pimentel and Kevin Coddington each doubled.

Evan Hildenbrandt wins it going 5 IP allowing 1 R, none earned, on 2 H and a BB with 2 K. Matteo Pizziconi, Greg Dombrowski, and Bryan Gardner each added a scoreless inning of relief.

    I am starting to get excited about Stubbs. I think we should go with Freel/Dickerson in CF next year until Stubbs has the ABs needed to get promoted.

    At this point I would say Stubbs, is borderline untouchable to trade this offseason, given the Reds need for defence, speed, and OBP.

    I feel the same way, looks like he’s done pretty good in his first 9 games. (.316, .381, .579). On the other hand, it’s a real bummer to have to see the name “Todd Coffey.”
