July 30, 1947: The New York Giants stop Ewell Blackwell’s 16 game winning streak by defeating the Reds, 5-4, in ten innings at Crosley Field. Blackwell had a no-hitter into the fifth inning, but weakened. He held a 4-3 advantage entering the ninth, before surrendering a game-tying home run to Willard Marshall. Buddy Kerr drove the game-winner with a single in the tenth.
