Stubbs mashes lefties (.364), but can’t hit righties (.222). Probably a platoon candidate, which isn’t so bad so long as the lefty-hitting half of that platoon isn’t Patterson. Hanigan has a nice K/BB ratio, a put the ball in play kinda guy w/ good splits. Let’s take the 2 or 3 decent years he can give us before our other C prospects are ready.

For the record, Sultan has that reversed: Stubbs is hitting .365 against RHP and .222 vs lefties.

My bad, Derek. Along w/ Mesaraco, Jordan Wideman, currently at Billings, is getting high marks. I get your point though, it’s an area of weakness thru the levels.

Mesoraco may be a #1, but from what I’ve seen of him this year, he’s far from a prospect at this point. Bad defensively…and I mean BAD…and his offense is mediocre.

What are scouts or the coaches saying about Mesoraco?

Don’t know…but I know he’s having trouble catching the ball and he’s throwing out about 8% of the base stealers.
