Louisville 2 – Columbus 1

Chris Dickerson continues his hot hitting.  Dickerson went 3-5 in this one, scoring a run and driving in a run.  He is now batting .279/.380/.473.  He also has 25 stolen bases on the season.

Adam Pettyjohn had one of his best starts of the season as well.  Adam gave up just 1 run on 9 hits and did not walk a batter in 8 innings of work.  Adam struck out 5 and is now 12-4 on the year.

Chattanooga 3 – Birmingham 2

Justin Turner had 3 hits in 4 at-bats and scored a run in the win.  The 3 hit night raised Turner’s average to .266 in Chattanooga.  Eric Eymann and Craig Tatum each had 2-4 games.  Eymann had a double and an rbi while Tatum hit his 7th homerun of the season, a solo shot in the 3-run, 8th inning.

Sam Lecure bumped his record to 8-6 on the season with the win.  Sam gave up 1 run on 6 hits and a walk in 7 innings of work.  He struck out 3 and lowered his ERA to 3.89 on the season.

Sarasota 3 – Lakeland 0

Carson Kainer and Eddy Rodriguez each went 2-4 in this one while Juan Francisco and Todd Frazier each had rbi extra base hits.  Francisco’s hit being a triple and Frazier’s a double.

Rafael Gonzalez pitched 6 scoreless innings, scattering 4 hits and walking 1 while striking out 3.  Gonzalez is now 5-8 on the season.

Dayton 1 – Quad Cities 0

Starter Kyle Lotkar only made it 2.2 innings, but Juan Rafael came in and kept the game in check.  Rafael pitched 5.1 more scoreless innings to pick up the win.  Juan scatterd 4 hits and walked 2 while striking out 7.

Justin Reed had 2 hits in the game and drove in the lone Dragons rbi in the 5th inning.

Helena 4 – Billings 3

The Mustangs had only 5 hits and committed 4 errors, giving Helena 3 unearned runs.  Jordan Hotchkiss picked up the loss when he gave up an unearned run in the 9th inning.

Tyler Stovall is now batting .347 after a 2-4 night. Stoval also had an rbi and stole a base.

GCL Reds 2 – GCL Orioles 0; earlier game

This game was a completion of a game that started on July 24.  Matt Maloney pitched 5.2 relief innings, allowing just 1 hit and striking out 9.  I assume Matt was making some sort of rehab appearance in this one considering he has been in Louisville all season.

Efrain Contreras went 2-4 with a run scored.

GCL Reds 6 – GCL Orioles 2; final 7

Humberto Sosa went 3-4 with 2 doubles, a run scored, and drove in 2.

Hugo Calderon picked up the win in relief.  Calderon walked 2 and allowed a hit in 2 innings of work.
