July 14, 1968: Houston pitcher Don Wilson strikes out 18 Reds batters in the 2nd game of a DH at Crosley Field. Wilson struck out 9 batters in the first three innings, including 8 in a row, in the 6-1 Astros win. The Reds also lost the first game, 5-4 in 10 innings.

Wilson had three spectacular starts in a row at Crosley Field. On September 10, 1968, he fanned 16 in a 3-2 win over the Reds, and pitched a 13 strikeout no-hitter in Cincinnati on May 1, 1969.
