Apologies all around!  I went on vacation last week.  Returned this week and completely forgot about my Down on the Farm obligations.  So I’ll pick it back up right now! (hat tip Chad for the reminder!)

Louisville 4 – Syracuse 3

Adam Pettyjohn improved his record to 10-4 on the season by going 6 innings, allowing 1 unearned run on 5 hits.  Adam didn’t walk a batter and struck out 5.  Matt Belisle wasn’t as successful.  Matt gave up 2 runs on 2 hits and a walk in an inning of work.

Ryan Hannigan went 3-4 with a double, run scored, and an rbi.  The 3 hit game raised Ryan’s batting average to .301 on the season.  Adam Rosales went 2-4 with a homerun, double, rbi, and 2 runs scored.

West Tennessee 3 – Chattanooga 2; game 1

Eric Eymann went 3-3 with 3 singles and an rbi.  The 3 hits raised his average to .306 on the year.  Chris Valaika scored a run and went 3-4, now batting .317.

Sam Lecure picked up the loss and fell to 7-5 on the year.  Lecure gave up 3 runs on 7 hits and 3 walks and 3 strikeouts in 5 innings pitched.

Chattanooga 3 – West Tennessee 1; game 2

Only 5 hits combined in this game.  The Lookouts made the most of their 3 hits.  Justin Turner and Daniel Dorn each went 1-3 with a solo homerun apiece.  For Dorn, the homerun gives him 14 on the season while Turner hit his 6th.

Reliever Pedro Viola made his first start of the season in this one.  He didn’t go long enough to pick up the decision, but he did pitch well.  Viola went 3.2 innings, allowing 1 unearned run on 1 hit while striking out 6.

Sarasota 17 – Lakeland 11

The Reds scored 2 touchdowns and kicked a field goal to beat Lakeland.  The Reds offense was charged by 5 homeruns in this one.  Eddy Rodriguez had the biggest game, gonig 2-5 with 2 homeruns and 5 runs batted in.  The 2 longballs gives Rodriguez 4 on the season.  Juan Francisco went 2-5 with a homerun.  Juan had 5 runs batted in as well.  Chris Heisey went hit his 5th homerun of the season in a 3-6 game.  Chris scored 3 times and drove in 2.  Finally, Jacob Kahaulelio went 4-6, hit his 3rd homerun of the season, hit 2 doubles, and scored 4 runs.

The pitching wasn’t great.  Justin James picked up the win by pitching 2 scoreless innings of relief.

Billings 17 – Helena 2

Andrew Means had a heckuva game.  Means went 3-6, hit 2 homeruns, scored 4 runs, and drove in 7 rbis.  Means now has 3 homeruns and 16 rbis on the season.  David Sappelt went 4-6 with a double, run scored, and 2 rbis.  Byron Wiley went 3-6 with a double, triple, 2 runs scored, and 3 rbis.  Finally, Miguel Rojas went 3-5 with an rbi and 3 runs scored.

Jamie Arneson improved his record to 3-1 on the year with the win.  Arneson gave up 2 runs on 5 hits in 6 innings of work.  He struck out 5 and lowered his ERA to 3.82.
