Thank you for all the support and recognition over my recent honors as Midwest League Pitcher-of-the-Week. I have put together a pretty nice stretch of starts, luckily enough two of those happened to fall within the same calendar week. It feels like this is one of those waves you want to never get off; ride it as long as you can. Hopefully I can fashion two more quality outings and have a great month of July.
Scott Carroll also won the award for the FSL this week. Scott and I were out in Billings together last summer and started together in Dayton this season. He is a great guy off the field and one of the fiercest competitors I have ever met. He brings a lot of fun to the clubhouse, on the days he is not pitching.
I hope everyone is ready for the dog days of August. I know the Dragons are. We play 29 games in 31 days, which isn’t too bad unless you factor in that 18 of those games are on the road. Although four of the six teams from the Eastern Division make the playoffs, I feel with our schedule that it will be well-deserved come September 2.
My next start will be Friday against Peoria and my former college teammate, Jay Jackson. He worked four innings on Monday, so I’m not sure when he will be hot again. It is always fun to play against a former teammate.
