July 1, 1970: Tommy Helms becomes the first Cincinnati player to hit a home run at Riverfront Stadium and the Reds win their first game at their new home with a 9-2 decision over the Atlanta Braves. The drvie by Helms hit the netting on the foul pole just inches above the left field wall.

The homer was the only one that Helms hit all year.
