October 8, 1990: Mariano Duncan socks a 3 run homer in the 5th to break a 2-2 tie and drives in a run in the 9th to lift the Reds to a 6-3 win over the Pirates at Three Rivers Stadium. The victory gave the Reds a 2 games to 1 lead in the NLCS. Billy Hatcher hit a two run homer in the second. Ron Dibble, Norm Charlton, and Randy Myers combined to strike out 7 batters in 3 1/3 innings of shutout relief.

The Reds relief corps was spectacular during the 1990 post season. Dibble, Charlton, Myers, Rick Mahler, Scott Scudder, adn Jack Armstrong combined to pitch 31 1/3 innings, allowing only 1 run and 16 hits, while striking out 33 batters.
