August 3, 1923: The Reds game against the Giants at Redland Field is postponed to ovserve a national day of mourning following the August 2nd death of President Warren Harding. Harding died during a trip to San Francisco. The Reds game against the Braves at Boston on August 10, the day of Hardings’ funeral was also postponed. Calvin Coolidge succeeded Harding as president.
