July 8, 1948: Ewell Blackwell whiffs 13 batters in a 4-0 win over the Cubs in Chicago.

One of the few bright spots in Blackwell’s 1948 season. Plagued by arm trouble and illness, he was 7-9 with a 4.54 ERA.
