February 2, 1999: The Reds trade Reggie Sanders, Damian Jackson, and Josh Harris to the Padres for Greg Vaughn and Mark Sweeney.

Vaughn gave the Reds the cleanup hitter and clubhouse leader they needed. He struck 45 homers and drove in 118 runs during the 1999 season.
