June 23, 1971: Phillies pitcher Rick Wise hurls a no-hitter against the Reds in a 4-0 Philadelphia win at Riverfront Stadium. To add insult to injury, Wise hit 2 homers to drive in three runs. Pete Rose ended the game by hitting a soft liner to third baseman John Vukovich.

Wise is the only player in history to pitch a no-hitter and hit two homers in the same game.

Comment: Ross Grimsley, Clay Carroll, and Wayne Grainger pitched for the Reds. I actually remember listening to this game and scoring along at home. 1:53 minute ballgame.
