May 27, 1939: The Reds set a modern club record with their 12th consecutive win by downing the Cardinals, 3-2 at Sportsman’s Park in St. Louis. The game was called after eight innings by a torrential downpour.

The streak extended the Reds record to 23-10. During the 12 straight wins, The Reds pitching was phenomenal, as the club outscored the opposition 62-24.
