Several Reds were named to Baseball America’s 2007 Classification All-Star teams. These are all-star teams that span across all of the minor leagues at each level.

Notably, two members of the Billings Mustangs were honored:

SS Todd Frazier .319 .409 .513

3b Brandon Waring .311 .369 .614

Waring was also named MVP of all Rookie level leagues.

Joey Votto was named the All-Star 1B for the AAA level, and Jay Bruce was named to the High A level squad, despite only having 268 AB at this level Seeing as how he’s BA’s Player of the Year, they had to get him on here somewhere.

Congratulations to all the guys, and to the Reds. I think it’s definitely fair to say that there’s been measurable improvement in the minor league system over the past couple of years. I suspect that Dan O’Brien and his team deserve a share of the credit, in addition to the current administration.

Thanks to reader Tom for the tip.
