Lousville vs. Columbus (AAA) was postponed.

West Tennessee 8, Chattanooga 7 (AA)

–26 year old CF Marland Williams had a huge game, going 3-4 with two homers, a triple, and three runs scored. On the season, Williams is hitting .220/.298/.383 with 11 homers.

–Not much else to report, in terms of individual performance. 24 y/o 1B Adam Rosales hit his 10th HR. He’s now at .272/.361/.540 on the season. If Rosales could play a position other than 1B, he would be an excellent prospect. As it is, he isn’t a bad prospect, as he’s hitting very well at his second level this season.

–23 y/o LF Michael Griffin hit his 3rd homer.

Sarasota 4, Lakeland 3 (A+)

–24 y/o RF Cody Strait continues to struggle at his second level this season (.236/.292/.395), but he had a solid night against Lakeland yesterday. Strait went 3-5 with a double, an RBI, and a run scored.

–24 y/o pitcher Robert Manuel, proud product of Sam Houston State, went 6.1 innings, giving up three earned runs, striking out 8 while walking just one. Manuel’s ERA on the season is 3.90.

–24 year old former prospect BJ Szymanski went 2-4 with a double. He’s hitting .242/.294/.394.

Dayton’s game vs. Fort Wayne (A) was postponed.

Idaho Falls 9, Billings 7 (Rookie)

–RF Brett Bartles continued to hit very well, despite the fact that he is a product of the Evil Empire at Duke University (Bartles is a good player, but I just can’t get past the fact that he’s a Blue Devil; it really bothers me). Bartles went 2-5 with his fifth homer and a double, raising his season numbers to a very solid .331/.389/.559. Bartles just turned 21 yesterday (happy birthday!), and he’s looking like a very good prospect.

–21 y/o 3B Brandon Waring, from Wofford College, is another pretty good prospect, and he had a good game, going 2-4. He’s at .283/.346/.511 on the season.

–22 y/o CF Brandon Menchaca (.258/.358 /.454) went 2-3 with a couple of RBI.

GCL Twins 7, GCL Reds 6 (Rookie)

–22 y/o DH David Scott went 2-3 with an RBI. On the season, the St. Leo’s College product is hitting .331/.389/.458.

–20 y/o 1B Carlos Mendez had two hits, as did 20 year old SS Radhames Moreta. One of Moreta’s knocks was a double.

Redleg Nation DOTF favorite Neftali Soto, an 18 year old SS from California, did not play.
