Louisville 6 – Scranton/WB 1 (final 11)

Joey Votto went 2-5 with 2 rbis and a walk. Chris Dickerson followed up his cycle night by going 2-5 as well, driving in a run. Aaron Herr went 3-5 with a double, run scored, and an rbi.

Elizardo Ramirez pitched 6.2 scoreless innings, allowing 5 hits and 3 walks while striking out 2. Ramirez now has a 2.88 ERA in 9 starts with Louisville. He has allowed 48 hits, 18 walks, and recorded 29 strikeouts in 50 innings pitched.

Chattanooga 11 – Mississippi 10

Caonabo Cosme, Marland Williams, and Michael Griffin each went 3-4 on the night. Cosme had 3 runs scored along with a homerun and 2 runs batted in. Griffin had a triple, 2 runs scored, and 2 rbis. Williams scored a run and drove in a run. Luis Bolivar continued his tear of late by going 2-4 with a homerun, 3 rbis, and 2 runs scored. Bolivar is batting .385 over his last 10 games.

Ramon Ramirez picked up the win in relief by pitching 3 innings, allowing 1 run on 3 hits, and striking out 7.

Clearwater 4 – Sarasota 1

Miguel Perez and Brandon Szymanski each went 2-4 in this one. Michael DeJesus went 1-2 and contributed the lone Reds rbi.

Logan Ondrusek had a fairly nice start by going 5 innings, allowing 2 unearned runs on 6 hits, 3 walks, and striking out 8.

Dayton 6 – Peoria 2

Jason Louwsma went 3-4 with a double, run scored, and 3 runs batted in. Carson Kainer went 2-4 with 2 runs scored and Chris Heisey raised his average to .301 by going 1-3 with 2 runs scored.

Anthony Gressick improved to 4-6 with the win. Gressick went 5 innings allowing 1 run on 3 hits, 1 walk, and struck out 7.

GCL Orioles 11 – GCL Reds 5

The GCL Reds dropped to 3-18 for the month of July with this loss. The Reds had an early 2-0 lead before allowing the Orioles to score 5 runs in the middle innings. The Reds cut the lead to 5-3 in the 8th, only to allow the Orioles to score 6 times in the bottom half to blow the game wide open. Jose Gualdron went 3-4 with a double for the Reds. Justin Reed went 3-5 with a double, run scored, and rbi. Reed is now batting .309/.392/.418. Neftali Soto added 2 hits in 5 at bats with a triple and an rbi. He added 2 more errors to his total, giving him 12 in 27 games. The Reds committed 3 more errors to add to their total. (It’s starting to add up as to why this team is 3-18 in July!)

Billings 13 – Missoula 10

Missoula missed a potential game-tying field goal as time expired to give the Mustangs the 13-10 win. Brandon Menchacha went 4-5 with a triple, 2 runs scored, and 3 runs batted in. Angel Cabrera had 3 rbis as well, going 2-5 with 2 doubles and 2 runs scored. Kyle Maunus and Michael Jones had identical nights, each going 2-4 with 2 runs scored and an rbi. Keltavious Jones added 2 hits of his own in 3 at-bats, scoring twice and driving in a run.
