Louisville 7, Norfolk 1

25 year-old Phil Dumatrait (Red Sox #1 – 2000) continued his AAA dominance.  Dumatrait pitched 6 innings giving up 4 H, 3 BB, and 1 UER.  For the season he has a 0.38 ERA with 17 Ks, 9 BB, 12 H in 23.2 IP.

23 year-old Joey Votto (Reds #2 – 2002) went 1 for 2 with 2 R, a 2B, a BB, and an RBI.  He is hitting just  .172.  But he is still extremely patient with 12 BB for a .320 OBA.  Seems like a good sign for him to eventually come out of this slump, he is only 23.

Carolina 5, Chattanooga 3 

25 year-old, center fielder Chris Dickerson (Reds #16 – 2003) went 1 for 3 with 2 R.  Dickerson is  hitting .300/.355/.343

Sarasota 7, Lakeland 2

20 year-old, right fielder, Jay Bruce (Reds #1 – 2005) went 2 for 4 with a BB, and 2 RBI. Bruce is hitting .343/.400/.597

21 year-old Johny Cueto (Reds non-drafted free agent) pitched his best game of the year, going 6 IP giving up 5 H, 3 BB and an ER, while striking out 4.  He has a 3.60 ERA with 15 Ks, 10 BB, and 21 H in 20 IP.

Dayton 3, Burlington 2

21 year-old Denis Phipps (Reds non-drafted free agent) went 3 for 3 with 2 R, solo HR.  On the season the 6’2″ 176 lb Dominican is hitting .339/.383/.446

21 year-old Rafael Gonzalez (Reds #4 – 2004) tossed 6.1 innings giving up 6 H, 1 BB, and 2 ER while recording 5 K.  He has a 1.04 ERA with 13 K, 5 BB, 14 H in 17.1 IP.
