This is good news, as far as I’m concerned:

Because of an off-day scheduled for Thursday, the Reds have adjusted their rotation slightly.

Aaron Harang, Bronson Arroyo and Kyle Lohse will take regular turns on four days of rest vs. the Cubs on Friday, Saturday and Sunday — respectively. Fifth starter Eric Milton has been pushed back to start Monday’s home series opener vs. the Brewers. Matt Belisle will get an extra day of rest and start next Tuesday.

“We had pretty good performances last week with Harang, Arroyo and Lohse,” Narron said. “Chicago is a pretty right-handed-dominant club.”

That means the left-handed Milton will be working on seven days of rest. He came off the disabled list (sore back) on Sunday and had a shaky first start, allowing four earned runs on 10 hits in 5 2/3 innings in a 6-3 loss to the Pirates.

I’m looking forward to seeing more of Matt Belisle, but I can’t argue with giving him some extra rest in this situation. He’ll pitch against Arizona tonight.

I’m looking forward to seeing less of Eric Milton.
