C. Trent Rosecrans reports that Brendan Harris was dealt to Tampa for a PTBNL or cash. Harris was DFA’d when Conine was signed. I can’t tell you how happy I am that he was the one let go and we are still holding on tight to Castro, Olmedo, and Gil. You’d think it was a prerequisite that to be a middle infielder for the Reds, you have to be completely inept at the plate. Letting Harris go was kind of like playing which one doesn’t belong with our middle infielders. We’ll add this one to our running list of unresolved PTNL transactions.

Reds 2006-2007 PTBNLs

5/26/06 Traded OF Cody Ross to the Marlins for a PTBNL or cash
8/9/06 Acquired OF Todd Hollandsworth from the Indians for a PTBNL
9/5/06 Acquired RHP Sun-Woo Kim and cash from the Rockies for future considerations
11/20/06 Traded Jason LaRue and cash to Royals for PTBNL
01/02/07 Traded infielder Brendan Harris to the Devil Rays for a PTBNL or cash.

Let us know if you’ve heard of any of the above being resolved already.

Elsewhere, the only other Red’s rumor I’ve heard is that we are one of several teams talking with Chris Reitsma’s agent for his services. Can he return to his previous form after undergoing ulnar nerve transposition surgery last July? If he does return to form, a 4.00 ERA reliever, is he good enough to solve our closer situation? Somebody wake me after Wayne Krivsky finally gets done fixing the bullpen and starts fixing the offense he broke.
