22 year-old Anthony Esquer (Reds #24 – 2006) went 2 for 3 with 2 R, 2 BB and an RBI. For the season the catcher is hitting .339/.380/.375.
LOW A
21 year-old Daniel Guerrero pitched 5 scoreless innings giving up just 2 H and 3 BB while striking out 5. Guerroro now has a 3.94 ERA at Dayton with 34 K, 14 BB, 60 H in 54.1 IP.
HIGH A
22 year-old Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan native James Avery (Reds #5 – 2005) pitched 8.2 innings give up just 7 H, 0 BB, and 1 ER while striking out 5.  Avery lowered his ERA to 4.43 with 86 K, 48 BB, 138 H in 130 IP.
AA
West Tennessee 4, Chattanooga 1
2007 Southern League MVP, Joey Votto (Reds #2 – 2004) went 2 for 3 with a solo HR and a BB. Votto who turns 23 next Sunday is now hitting .319/.410/.550. When your 23 and the best player in AA in the country, your odds of being a good major leaguer are very very high. I like Hatteburg, and he is clearly a fantastic value, but I hope Votto gets a shot at some point next year.
AAA
29 year-old Tom Shearn (Astros #29 – 2006) pitched 6 innings giving up just 1 H and 3 BB while striking out 8. Since being promoted he has a 2.52 ERA with 79 K, 42 BB, and 83 H in 96.1 IP.
