According to Marc Lancaster:
Edwin Encarnacion has been named National League player of the week for Aug. 7-13.
Encarnacion hit .440 (11-25) with a double, four home runs and eight RBIs last week. His 24 total bases and .960 slugging percentage last week led the NL. He currently has a career-high 10-game hitting streak.
Encarnacion is the second Reds player to take P.O.W. honors this year. Brandon Phillips did it April 17-23.
Will this counteract Narron’s wanting to bench EE after his error yesterday in the 9th?
although I rather see Phillips at SS and Aurilia at 2b, I will be ok if its the other way around if that is the only way Jerry will play EE-Aurilia-Phillips at the same time. Only a fool would think that having Clayton starting on a regular basis makes us a better team. Unfortunately the only fool that thinks this is Narron.
I think another sign that Narron is finally coming around is the last couple of games with the Phils, he didn’t pull EE for defense in the late innings with a lead.
Did you read this quote by Narron;
“I loved the way we came out there in the ninth,” Reds manager Jerry Narron said after the game, a 9-7 win for the Reds. “Encarnacion is tremendous. [He] went down and got it for a base hit. It just shows you how far Eddie has come this year.”
He is such a douche bag!! Nice he finally caught on. Might I add, i loved the lineup Sunday and would like to see it the rest of the year!!!!
