Earl Snyder provided the 1 run for the Bats by hitting his 13th homerun of the season in the 2nd inning. The HR gave the Bats a short lived 1-0 lead. Will Bergolla was the only Bats player to have a multihit game, going 2-3 on the night.

Steven Kelly received the loss by going 4 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits, 3 walks, and struck out 2. The Bats bullpen of Robbins and Shearn collapsed in the 7th when they combined to give up 7 runs on 6 hits, 2 walks, while striking out 2.

Birmingham 3, Chattanooga 5

Homer Bailey improved to 4-0 at AA and now sports a 0.75 earned run average after going 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits, 0 walks, and striking out 3. With Chattanooga, Bailey has thrown 24 innings, allowing 14 hits, 4 walks, 25Ks, and 2 runs. Thus meaning Bailey must be struggling as he raised his ERA from 0.00 to 0.75 yesterday.

Relief pitcher extraordinaire Rick Asadoorian went 3-3 playing CF last night including 2 runs scored and a double.

High A

Lakeland 11, Sarasota 6

Paul Janish went 3-5 on the night, including 2 runs scored, 2 rbis and a double. Janish is hitting .251/.335/.374 with Sarasota.

Cody Strait went 2-4 on the night, including a double, rbi, and run scored. Strait is struggling along at .233/.294/.403.

Low A

Clinton 2, Dayton 3

Craig Tatum went 2-3 on the night, belting 2 solo homeruns. The 2 shots gave Tatum 5 on the season and is now hitting .251/.324/.377.

Carlos Fisher improved to 8-4 on the season after going 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits, walking 1, and striking out 7.

Rookie Leagues

GCL Pirates 2, GCL Reds 4

David Scott, hitting .176 on the season, provided a 2 rbi double in the 2nd inning and the Reds never trailed from that point on. Jacob Long went 2-3 on the night and is now batting .365/.400/.442 in 52 at bats.

Casper 2, Billings 7

3B Jason Louwsma had another nice game. Louwsma went 3-4 on the night, hitting 2 doubles, a homerun, scoring twice, and driving 2 runs home. Jason is now hitting .351/.373/.545 in 77 at-bats.

    Good grief, Homer Bailey is a stud. But what is Asadoorian doing playing in the field? He needs to be in the bullpen!
