The Bats pitching staff was kicked around by the Mud Hens as the Bats slide continued. The best effort on the Bats staff was by recently resigned 30 year old Jake Robbins who threw 2 2/3 innings, allowing 1 unearned run on a hit with 2 walks and 2 strikeouts.

Offensively, the Bats were led by 25 year old Chris Denorfia (Reds 19th pick -’02) who went 4-5 with 2 doubles and a triple. He also scored 2 runs and drove in 3. His numbers for the year are .351/.409/.461.

Of interest to Reds fans, 24 year old David Espinosa (Reds #1 pick – ’00) went 2-4 with a HR for the Mud Hens and is at .281/.364/.510 on the year.

Chattanooga 10 – West Tennessee 4

25 year old Josh Hall (Reds #7 pick – ’98 draft) was the star of the game for the Lookouts. He threw 6 innings of 7 hit 2 run baseball (allowing 3 walks and striking out 3) and also was 2-2 with 2 doubles, driving in 3 runs.

27 year old Javier Colina and 25 year old Ryan Hanigan both had 3 hits.

High A

Dunedin 10 – Sarasota 2

Reds pitching got pounded (Paduch and Hendley), period.

Cody Strait (Reds #12th pick ’04) had two hits for the Reds on a bad offensive day also.

Low A

Kane County 12 – Dayton 4

Robert Manuel started and pitched 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits, with 3 ks’s. Dragons bullpen was pounded. (Ondrusek, Mallet, and Feliz)

25 year old Habileto Hernandez was 3-4 with a triple and 2 run scored, raising his numbers to .264/.281/.368. Adam Rosales (Reds # 12 pick – ’05), Mike Griffin (#14 pick – ’05), Gerrado Cabrera all had two hits.

Billings 5 – Missoula 3

Jordan Smith (Reds #6- ’06) threw 5 innings of 6 hit, 1 run baseball, walking none and striking out 4. In his 3 starts, in 14 innings, he’s allowed 11 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 13, with an ERA of 2.57.

Offensively, the Mustangs were led by Logan Parker (Reds #12 – ’06) (.432/.545/.568) and Danny Dorn (Reds #32 -’06) (.263/.300/.316) with 3 hits.

GCL Twins 12 – GCL Reds 8

Former Reds #1 pick (’02) Chris Gruler hit hard again, giving up 6 hits and 4 runs (2 earned), walking 2 and striking out 0. His ERA is now up to 5.40.

Adam Pointer (Reds #22- ’06) threw 2 innings of shutout relief, allowing 1 hit and 1 walk while striking out 4. In his 5 appearances, he’s thrown 7 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 4 hits, walking 3 and striking out 7.

Emmanuel Cabrera (.407/.467/.481) and Tyler Hauschild (Reds #28 – ’06) (.375/.500/.375) both had two hits on the day.
