Eddy Valdez improved to 4-3 on the year by going 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits while striking out 5. His era is now 3.92.
High A
JD Roberts and Trevor Lawhorn gave the Reds the offense they needed by supplying solo homers each. For Roberts, that’s his first for Sarasota. Lawhorn’s solo shot was his 4th of the season.
Ramon Ramirez pitched 6 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits, 2 walks, while striking out 5. Ramirez received a no decision. Abe Woody got the win by pitching 3 shutout innings of relief. He gave up 1 hit and 1 walk while striking out 1 over those 3 innings. Woody is now 4-2 on the year.
Low A
Dayton is still taking some time off. They return back to action tonight versus South Bend.
Rookie League
Logan Parker went 3-3 for the Mustangs. He also hit his first homerun of the short season and drove in 2 runs. He scored 2 of his own and walked twice. Drew Stubbs went 1-5.
Gulf Coast League
Angel Cabrera went 2-3 for the Reds in the losing effort. Catcher Fernando Encarnacion went 1-4 with a triple.
