From the Enquirer:
Some minor soreness and tightness in his left quadriceps muscle kept Reds center fielder Ken Griffey Jr., who is 6-for-11 with three home runs lifetime against Ponson, out of the starting lineup.
“It’s been that way for a couple days,” Griffey said. “I think I just jammed it sliding (into home plate in the ninth inning Tuesday).”
Griffey tested the quad by running before batting practice, and he was available to pinch hit.
So what’s his status?
“You can’t use ‘day-to-day.’ It’s ‘we’ll see,’ ” Griffey joked. “Yeah, day-to-day.”
I know I’m not the only one that got that bad feeling in the pit of their stomach reading that….
Please realize that I have my fingers crossed while I say this, but it doesn’t sound that bad. We’ll see if I’m right in a couple of days.
I messed up!
