27 year-old Jeff Bannon went 3 for 4 with 2B, a R, and an RBI.  Since being promoted to Louisville Bannon is hitting .307/.337/.443 in 91 plate appearances.  Like most of the Reds farm system Bannon, a 3rd baseman, is allergic to walks.  He has only 3 in those 91 PAs.

35 year-old Chris Michalak pitched 6.1 innings allowing 6 H, 1 BB, and 1 ER.  Michalak, from the University of Notre Dame, now has a 3.61 ERA with 25 Ks in 57 IP.

Mississippi 3, Chattanooga 1

21 year-old Travis Chick pitched 6 solid innings giving up just 4 H, 2 BB, and 1 ER while striking out 5.  For the season, Chick now has a 4.44 ERA with 42Ks, 50 H, and 19 B in 48.2 IP.

HIGH A

Jupiter 5, Sarasota 4

23 year-old Drew Anderson, from THE Ohio State University, went 2 for 5 with a R, and an RBI.  Anderson, who is normally a 2nd baseman, played LF for this game, and is now hitting .296/.367/.473.

LOW A

Dayton 4, West Michigan 2

19 year-old Travis Wood pitched 5 innings giving up 4 H, 3 BB, and 2 ER, while striking out 9.  For the season, the 2nd round pick of the 2005 draft, has a 3.38 ERA with 60 Ks, 24 BB, and 38 H in 53.1 IP

    While Wood is nowhere near as lights out as Rookie League, he is still holding his own and seems to be legit. A good follow-up so far in his first full season.

    Not sure how many people care, but I believe that Dayton’s games tonight and tomorrow will be on cable. In Cincinnati its channel 99 (at least on Digital) and in Dayton I think they said channel 25.
