Both Marc Lancaster and the LA Times (reg. req.) are reporting that the Reds are discussing a deal with the Dodgers for Cody Ross. Ross was DFA’d by the Dodgers last week, is out of options, and has nothing left to prove in the minors after putting up about a .850 OPS the last three seasons in AAA for Detroit and LA. He’s smallish, generously listed as 5′ 11″, has a little pop, and takes a BB on occasion. The OF is only 25, bats RH, reportedly has a strong arm, and can even play center in a pinch. He would seem like a solid pickup, but if acquired, it will be interesting to see what they will do roster wise. Stay tuned.
Later,
Tom
Deal is done for another PTBNL. And Womack is gone.
