No timetable for Griffey’s return, they say over at MLB.com.
I wouldn’t be as concerned if we hadn’t seen this same scenario played out a thousand times. The Reds medical staff diagnoses someone as day-to-day, or they say the injury isn’t serious…then the player ends up on the disabled list for two months.
In other words, I have very little faith that they have diagnosed Griffey correctly, based on history. I hope Junior is alright and back in the lineup tomorrow. I’m not holding my breath.
Will is wrong – Reds just put Junior on the 15-day DL, retroactive to 4/13.
Bad news, but better to be cautious at this early juncture. This also ensures that Freel stays in the lineup.
