– Atlanta Braves vice president Frank Wren has been added to the list of candidates for the Cincinnati Reds’ general manager job.
The Reds now have eight candidates for the job that opened when new owner Bob Castellini fired Dan O’Brien last week. Interviews began this week.
Four in-house candidates are on the list: Brad Kullman, who is serving as the Reds’ general manager during the search; special assistant Leland Maddox; international scouting director Johnny Almaraz, and special adviser Jim Beattie.
Philadelphia Phillies assistant general manager Mike Arbuckle, Minnesota Twins assistant Wayne Krivsky and St. Louis Cardinals assistant John Mozeliak also are candidates.
