From the DDN:
Among 10 minor leaguers recently released by the Cincinnati Reds were six with Class A Midwest League Dayton Dragons backgrounds, including pitcher Joe Powers, a former Wright State right-hander. Powers did not pitch in 2003 or 2004 due to shoulder and elbow surgery, and briefly last summer.
Others released by the Reds who played for the Dragons were infielder William Hudson (2004 with Dragons), pitchers Matt McWilliams (2003), Omar Segovia (2004, ’05) and Josh Thigpen (2003, ’04, ’05) and outfielder Kyle Smith (2004).
