I know Milton’s got a multi-year contract, but realisticly is there anyway he’s back next year? The Reds just can’t keep running him out there every fourth or fifth day to get his brains beat in.

Not much choice. It’s either cut him and take the loss, or suffer on with getting bombed in the 4th. or 5th. innings of most games, or else trade him for a couple of long-shot prospects.
