Jose Leon went 3-4 driving in 2 runs and scoring one of his own.

Chattanooga 0, Jacksonville 1

High A
Lakeland 1, Sarasota 5 — Lakeland 1, Sarasota 1 suspended

Sarasota scored 4 runs in the 15th inning to win game one of the double header. I guess that explains the reason game 2 was suspended. At some point in our lives, most of us have dreamed about this scenario. Tie game, bottom of the inning, bases loaded, 2 outs… That was the scenario Mark Schramek faced when he belted a grand slam to win game one. The 25 year old 3b is hitting just .206 but it was his 8th homerun of the season that one the game. Sarasota relief combined to go 9 scoreless innings allowing just 4 hits.

Helena 10, Billings 3

Gulf Coast

GCL Reds 3, GCL Pirates 7

Looks like the Louisville bullpen came close to blowing a third straight game.

It was also interesting that the suspended game in Sarasota was a 1-1 tie, in the bottom of the 11th. That’s a long night of baseball.

Josh Hall’s opponent in Chattanooga’s game was Edwin Jackson, the Dodgers hard throwing prospect.

Tom, I know, we were there…though my wife forced me to leave in the second game in the top of the 8th…at 12:15 AM…more to follow.

Not only a long night of baseball for Sarasota, but a great night for their pitching staff. 26 innings, 2 runs allowed. That’s a 0.69 ERA for the day.
